Pregnancy Poetry

Sad Poem

I remember it so distinctly
Standing in the shower
Looking down at my stomach as the water scaled and fell to the tub
A pool of sadness flooded my chest
This was not my body anymore

My safety and adventure
My proud sensuality
My closest friend
Wish I had the chance to say goodbye

Happy Poem

This morning, I climbed out of my swollen belly and big boobs
I drove to the White Mountains and backpacked 30 miles
I ate and drank whiskey for 5 hours straight
I went to hot yoga and had wild acrobatic sex with my husband
Then I slept peacefully through the night and never once used the bathroom
