Jamie Martin is one of my talented, witty design peers. Today, he gave me great advice.
I’m currently working on a product that was built by many parties over a long period of time. It’s a bit of a Frankenstein with inconsistent styling and information architecture. I was struggling to redesign pages because the standards were undefined.
Jamie offered great advice.
“Just filter through preexisting pages to find one that works well and use that as a template for your styling.”
This has always been apparent to me for building new things. I see what others in the industry are doing so I have a reference. However, it was neat to think about that even at a more micro level, you can be more efficient by leveraging things that already work.
Thanks Jamie!
